The Challenge
Linda first noticed hip pain in her early forties. "I told myself it was normal — I was just getting older," she recalls. Over two decades, the pain progressed from occasional discomfort to constant companion.
By 62, she was organizing her entire life around pain management. "I planned every trip around where I could sit. I avoided stairs. I stopped dancing at my daughter's wedding because the pain was too much."
Multiple doctors recommended hip replacement, but Linda was terrified of surgery. "I'd seen friends go through it. The recovery looked brutal."
